Homosexuality Knows No Borders
(with excerpts from http://www.homophobiaday.org)
First established in 2003, the International Day Against Homophobia is a world-theme day set aside to raise awareness of sexual diversity issues. The 2009 Campaign, with the theme “Homosexuality Knows No Borders”, is to make the general population and, more specifically, ethno-cultural communities of all backgrounds more aware of gay and lesbian issues, and sexual diversity. Ethno-cultural communities occupy an increasingly significant place in our societies.
CAEO Québec and its programs – Gay Line, SILK, and GayONLine – combat homophobia, biphobia, transphobia and heterosexism across all ethno-cultural communities in our daily work. From providing listening and support services to Gay Line callers facing homophobic work environments, to facilitating open discussions of combating queer stereotypes between secondary school students during a SILK workshop, our team of volunteers are tasked everyday to fight against hombophobia.
On behalf of the entire CAEO Québec family, we encourage you to share the attached video to increase awareness of sexual diversity issues, especially amongst ethno-cultural communities of all backgrounds. Be sure to visit www.homophobia.org to find out how you and your community can assist in the fight against homophobia.
Help us make a difference.
Sincerely,
Nick Frate | Marcus Lam |
